One inch surface tear to rear paste-down endpaper, one inch chip to bottom edge of last page. 1979 Hard Cover. 127 pp. In 1851 Andrew Reiber, a resident of Maine, wrote to Vita Sackville-West, asking if a young friend of his might visit her garden in Kent, England, already famous though not then, as now, open to the public. This led to a correspondence that lasted until Vita's death in 1962. They never met.
