Hector Giacomelli, born in Paris on April 1, 1822 and died in Menton on December 1, 1904. He was a watercolorist, french engraver and illustrator, best known for his paintings of birds. He studied with Gustave Dore, worked on newspapers such as The World Illustrated, The Store Picturesque, and Illustration and illustrated works by authors such as Jules Michelet & Alfred de Musset.
