Previous owner seems to have used this book as a means of learning basic Norwegian, penciling English translations of each portion of text. 1921 Large Hardcover. [27 pp.] Blue cloth spine, paper covered boards, black titles, color circular illustration on front board. Title translates as What Little Arne Dreamed. The text is paired with full-page illustrations, which appear in duplicate opposite one another - one in line drawing form, the other full-color. Norwegian text. The story makes frequent mention to the time of day, with the corresponding position of hands on a clock picture in the margin of the illustrations to teach children how to tell time properly. Magnhild Havardsholm was a painter and stained glass artist who once studied under Henri Matisse, and wrote several children's books.
