A brief narrative expounding the evils of alcohol, and championing temperance as a means to protect one's family from the ravages of addiction. Though the work was originally released circa 1880, this appears to be a turn-of-the-century reprint (title page states 'By the Late Rev. P.B. Power', and the author died in 1899). Includes engravings, and ads for Epps's Cocoa; Bryant & May's Safety Matches; Dr. J. Collis Browne's Chlorodyne; and Pears' Soap. OCLC shows only 3 copies, and only 1 within the U.S. KEYWORDS: EPHEMERA CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE MOVEMENT PAMPHLET Condition Notes: Wrappers toned with minimal loss from corners. Interior well preserved, no stains or tears.
