A western novel focusing on a pioneer woman and political intrigue during the Spanish-American War. The film version, despite having a cast featuring several well-known actors, was widely considered to be a poor adaptation. 'Family movies to a border town near Rio Grande and opens up a store. Unfortunately, Pancho Villa and his man storm the town and rob the place. The recipient is someone named Angie, likely an uncredited member of the crew or a production assistant (she is not mentioned on the official film crew list). Laid in are a facsimile of a letter by Dawson stapled to a three-page cast list with addresses and phone numbers, and a photocopy of a letter from West Virginia State College to Dawson referencing payment for a lecture appearance. Light stain to base of first and last few pages, boards faintly soiled.
