Hoolihan 581: Having purchased a 'right' to Thomson's system, Chambers justifies the publication of an additional and seemingly extra-legal text on the botanic practice in his preface: 'I have owned a right to this incomparable system of medicine about seven years; and, by attention and application thereto, have obtained so competent a knowledge of it, that I confidently believe that no one will be disappointed, or ever regret purchasing this book... This work is, therefore, intended to supply the deficiency, at a trifling cost...'.Keywords: MEDICAL MEDICINE THOMSONIAN METHOD Condition Notes: First edition. Rebound in black cloth with gilt titles, new endpapers and flyleafs. Top page edge lightly stained.
