Corners lightly rubbed. 1917 Large Hardcover. xxxi, 392 pp. A detailed atlas, with an interesting note printed by the publisher on the title page: Maps of To-day, and To-morrow; New Maps will replace Old after the Great War. Mawson mentions the Kingdom of Hejaz, formerly part of Arabia, as an example of these changes in his preface, noting that this new country is shown within this atlas, despite only being formed a few months ago (today it has been subsumed into Saudi Arabia). The publisher also provides a page promising a new map of Europe to purchasers of this book, showing all changes in boundary lines which may be made on account of the war, providing this slip is mailed to us within three months after peace has been declared and changes have been officially determined. In addition to mapping the world's regions, Mawson provides geographical data and descriptive text, as well as Gall's Stereographic Projection of The World at War (showing which countries are aligned with which side), and a complete index of new war maps of the Western Front.
