A rare textually complete example, lacking only the front free endpaper of the Book of Common Prayer. Back panel catches present but lacks clasps. Edges worn with minor loss, panels and spine show nice patina from considerable use. Though most of gilt decoration is worn away, evidence of it remains. First two pages repaired at spine, first section of pages worn at corners and toned - rest of text relatively lightly toned and quite well preserved. Family history (christenings, births, etc.) recorded on rear endpapers and several blank sections within text. The Geneva Bible, named for the city in which it was composed, is an important edition based on careful revisions of the original Hebrew and Greek, with the assistance of authoritative Latin, French and German versions.
